I design exergames (exercise games; a form of serious games) that combine physical strength and neurocognitive training to deliver measurable health benefits. These games motivate users with real-time feedback, competition, and fun. By fusing brain and body training, the system improves both cognitive and physical function more than either alone. These are played on Data driven exergame based systems ddrobotec® Robotrainers (ELITE, Pro and SUPR) can provide users with real-time feedback on their progress, allowing them to make any necessary adjustments to their training routine.
Milestones & Highlights
SUPR Robotrainer with SCHNELL
I contributed to the software development of SUPR, ddrobotec’s stand-up performance robotrainer, built in collaboration with SCHNELL Trainingsgeräte and based fully on Unreal Engine 5. In less than nine months and on a minimal budget, our cross-disciplinary team took the project from first concept to full market launch. SUPR combines robotic resistance, real-time software control, and exergames to deliver training for posture, balance, and strength, consolidating the functions of four traditional gym machines into one intelligent system (nano gym).
50+ Exergames Developed
At ddrobotec I designed and shipped over fifty exergames across a wide spectrum of training goals, from strength and coordination to neurocognitive and rehabilitation tasks. This body of work established ddrobotec’s platform as one of the most diverse exergame ecosystems worldwide, covering playful experiences for children, engaging fitness for adults, and targeted protocols for rehabilitation and return-to-sport programs.
Leveling System
Together with the Head of Software I co-developed a cloud-based leveling system that tracks each user’s progress across ddrobotec’s exergames. The system transforms training into a guided journey, unlocking new exergames step by step, awarding medals for achievements, and enabling progress comparisons with others. This structure motivates users to advance from simple workouts to complex challenges in a steady, rewarding way.
Swiss Game Awards Nomination
Our exergame collection at ddrobotec was nominated for Best Serious Game 2023 at the Swiss Game Awards. This recognition placed ddrobotec on the Swiss game industry map and validated our approach of combining robotics, health, and playful design as a serious contribution to the national games ecosystem.
Ski Exergames & Fit for Ski / for Winter Initiatives
I contributed to ddrobotec’s Fit for Ski and Fit for Winter programs, launched in partnership with both the Hirslanden Check-up Center Zürich and the Rosenklinik Rapperswil. These initiatives brought our exergame technology into high-profile medical and sports-health contexts, positioning it as an official prevention tool against ski injuries. For these programs, I helped develop dedicated ski exergames that, when paired with ddrobotec’s robotrainers, could simulate the feel of snow surfaces: applying higher loads when skiing uphill, relaxing loads downhill, and adding vibrational forces as speed increased or terrain became messy. This innovation bridged playful game design with medical prevention and rehabilitation, giving recreational skiers a motivating, data-driven way to prepare safely for the season.
From Strength to Cognition (Biomarkers)
I integrated neurocognitive and physical training into ddrobotec’s exergames and played a role in expanding the system’s library of biomarkers. Beyond classical measures of strength, speed, and coordination, I contributed to the introduction of neurocognitive markers such as task switching, working memory, concentration, cognitive speed, and brain endurance. Together with a wide range of physical and physiological metrics (covering power, force, asymmetry, proprioception, reaction time, endurance, and more) the exergames now track over 30 validated biomarkers.
Mascot Character
I designed Robodo Miku, ddrobotec’s mascot character, which appears in several sports-themed exergames such as Tennis, Ski, and Football. The character was created to motivate both young and older users and guides players through short tutorial sequences that explain the basics of each exergame. Beyond gameplay, Robodo Miku became a central figure in ddrobotec’s international marketing and was particularly well received by the company’s Japanese branch.

I taught Game Art & 3D Animation at SAE Institute Zürich for nearly three years, guiding students through the fundamentals of Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine 4. My focus was on giving them practical tools to build confidence: from modeling their first assets to animating characters and designing interactive levels. Over each semester, I helped beginners grow into creators who could complete full projects, often surprising themselves with how much they achieved. Beyond games, I showed how these skills apply to film, architecture, and product design—broadening their career perspectives. For me, the most rewarding part was supporting that journey from hesitant first steps to students proudly presenting work they never thought they could make.
